A FRAMEWORK
FOR THE FUTURE

The Bay and its hinterlands are culturally important and form the foundation of a thriving tourist economy.

A popular tourist destination, the bay and its islands attract visitors the world over. But this vital wetland, and the wildlife and livelihoods that depend on it, are at serious risk.

Without a comprehensive plan for its future – urban growth, unsuitable industrial development, climate disruption and poor water quality will continue to take their toll on the health of the bay.

The Problem

The health of Western Port Bay is in serious decline.

Pressure from inappropriate commercial and residential development, and climate change are taking their toll on the natural systems of the Bay.

The Solution

We’ve joined together to develop a community, science-led solution to the growing challenges our bay faces.

Now we need our elected representatives to back the plan and commit to the framework in 2023, so that there is time to implement it in this term of Government.
